O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.—Psalms 136:1
Of the thirty-four times in Scripture that the exact phrase “give thanks” is used, ten directly reference God’s mercy.

Indeed, we have every reason to give thanks for God’s mercy, for mercy is the reason that we have anything for which to give thanks at all!
As you consider gratitude this month, remember to give thanks for the mercy of God that endures forever—and, especially, that endures today.
God’s mercy never runs out. It never runs dry. It is never exhausted.
Like the song says, “There’s a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea.”
